What Does It Take to Shoot Santa on an LED Wall?
Grit Productions produced the Santa Claus commercial for Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. Joey Arcisz shot it as director of photography, with Geared Like A Machine supplying the camera, lighting, and grip package. The three-day production ran a dedicated pre-light day, rehearsal, then principal photography on a 40 by 17 foot LED wall stage with dual RED Komodo cameras and a full Aputure lighting rig, blending practical stage lighting with the wall’s virtual environments. That process gave the client in-camera finals on a broadcast timeline instead of leaning on post-heavy compositing.
