Why do straight lines lean?

MOTION + READOUT TIME = SKEW
Rows are sampled at different times. Fast motion can lean a vertical line because its position changes during the readout.
An exaggerated illustration, not a camera test or performance ranking. Readout speed, motion and exposure all matter. Animation stays still when your device requests reduced motion.

Pixels are useful. So are good skin tones, a body you can put in the right place, and a workflow that gets the image home. A bigger number is a different tool, not an automatic upgrade.
The core collection preserves 120 camera entries from GLM’s March 29, 2026 reference dataset. Featured profiles and additions have individual source dates. Specifications can change with firmware, licenses, sensors and recording modes. Dynamic-range figures are manufacturer claims, not a common laboratory test. Drawings are original artistic studies, not engineering schematics.
